Featured Exhibit

Life in the Etvlwv

Located just behind the Welcome Desk in the main lobby, Life in the Etvlwv is an interactive model of a Creek town (Etvlwv, eh-dul-wah). Visitors can press buttons on the exhibit panel to illuminate different parts of the town and learn how each space was used—from gathering and ceremonies to games and daily life. The model puts the town in perspective, showing community areas, family homes, and important activity spaces together so visitors can see how they relate, not just read about them. It’s an easy entry point for first-time visitors and a rewarding stop for anyone who wants to slow down and explore the details.

Explore the Museum

Admission-free and open to the public, our museum offers a firsthand look at our Tribe’s history and culture. Exhibits connect early Southeastern Native life and the Creek Confederacy with the distinctive history of the Poarch community. Exhibits incorporate archaeological and material culture, including stoneware, pottery, tools, baskets, and textiles that reflect early village life. The museum also features traditional Creek art—such as basketry, shellwork, copper tooling, and quilting—along with unique artifacts, including original copies of the 1980 Petition for Federal Recognition submitted to the United States Department of the Interior.
